Love is the strongest force in the universe. Love never diminishes, love never disappears. Never.
When we die, we will always feel connected to those whom we leave behind. When our loved ones die, they will always feel connected to us. Love is a light that connects us heart to heart, soul to soul, in life and in death.
Sometimes people hold on to their grief because in their sadness, they feel a strong emotional connection to their loved one. Just as you can see a physical shadow, you can feel an emotional shadow. Just as when you see a physical shadow, you are not connecting with the real person, when you feel an emotional shadow you are not connecting with the real person. Emotional shadows are made up of your memories, your longing and your desires. The truth is, you are not connecting with your loved one, you are attached to an emotional shadow that you have created.
Because of the unbreakable bond of love, your grief can work as a tether, holding your loved ones in a sort of limbo. They won’t allow themselves to fully transition, because of their love for you. They feel your pain, your anguish, your grief.
It is natural and important to grieve. But remember, you do not need pain to stay connected! Love is the strongest force in existence. When you allow yourself to connect to the joy and the laughter that you shared, you connect the best part of yourself with the best part of your loved one. The greatest gift that you can give your loved one, is permission and encouragement to move on. While you are grieving, remember to hold the best interest of your loved one in your heart. Tell them that you love them, that you miss them and that you wish them joy on their journey.
